Principal’s Message

Dear Audubon Roadrunner Family and Friends,

We are off and running into the 2008-2009 school year.  What a great beginning!!  It has been so exciting to see and meet each of you.  Our students’ enthusiasm in being back to school and learning brings great joy to my heart.  Our community jumped immediately into the job of teaching and learning; so we are well on our way.  I have enjoyed visiting classrooms to experience smart thinking and conversations in all subjects.

As a community I encourage all of us to remember that we have a brilliant group of children who are all on the path to college.  All of our collective hard work, today and throughout this school year, will help them to achieve this goal.  They are all eager to contribute to a positive school culture where all parties are respectful, responsible and ready.  Part of our school culture is following the school uniform dress code and positive school climate rules.  Our children look great in their school uniforms and it is wonderful that they have an array of colors to choose from.  Please remember that it is not required to wear the school logo on shirts. Also, Mario’s in Lemon Grove has a large stock of Audubon uniforms.  You may also purchase them at stores such as Walmart.

Some of you may have noticed that the children walking around campus are getting much bigger.  That is because this year we continued on the road to becoming a K-8 school by adding seventh grade.  We are very pleased to have Juan Casillas and Steffanie Zambrano join our family to teach students in those grade levels.  Jennifer Rodriguez is also a part of that team.

This year holds much promise for great academic and social achievement for our children.  I look forward to a year of partnership and collaboration with the entire Audubon community as together we become the best people and school that we can be.

Remember:  We can, we will, we must achieve.
