Clubs  
 
A large number of school clubs are available for students to join. Please see the ASB Advisor in the ASB room for more details regarding the clubs and academic teams that might be of interest to you. The following list includes some of the Bell Junior High clubs.

MECHA 

MECHA, which stands for Movimiento Estudiantil Chicanos de Aztlan, is a student organization that promotes the inclusion of Latino culture and history in school settings. It includes students at Bell, who meet on Tuesdays to discuss raising money and becoming more active in school events and political organizations.

Members of the MECHA club have in the past attended plays such as Zoot Suit, Padres baseball games, San Diego State University and the University of California, San Diego. Latinas have modeled in fashion shows at Sea World and the group has presented folkloric dances during Cinco De Mayo assemblies. The club also plans a yearly trip to Six Flags Magic Mountain.
