My name is Diane Bryson and I am Mrs. Mora’s team teacher in the SAI, moderate to severe program at Bell. I will be teaching part of the social studies program and math. I look forward to an exciting year working with your students.

In social studies, the students will learn about reading and using a newspaper, social skills and relationships, and personal interests and science. The students will create several journals on various topics and learn basic computer research skills. They will use the circles curriculum to learn about relationships.

In math, the students will learn about money, time and scheduling, basic calculation, and measurement. They will go out into the community on Community Based Instruction (CBI) to reinforce and generalize the skills learned in class. Students will also cook and learn how to follow a recipe.

Students will receive a homework packet on Friday, which will be due on the following Friday, starting September 12. Students who turn in a completed packet will receive 15 minutes of free choice time. Homework helps students develop independence and responsibility.
