Classroom Standards:

The classroom environment is critical to the type learning students will be able to achieve. The class needs to be inclusive, safe and fun which will result in students wanting to be there and then they will be want to learn and grow socially, emotionally and physically. Physical Education is a social realm, not a vacuum.

1)    Students need to be in their assigned area when the teacher starts the class: (EX: roll numbers, seats in classroom).

2)    Everyone needs to be respectful to others, equipment:

a.     Listen when others are talking

b.     Take care of school equipment

c.     Talk to others without negative comments

d.     Act like you are part of a group (less I more us)

3) Students will be dressed ready for participant in approved physical education clothes: Bell T-shirt, Bell shorts. Warm-ups are allowed: either from the ASB store or from home. If from home they must be Black, Navy, or Gray. Tops may not have a hood.

Clothes worn to school must be changed and not worn under the PE clothes (very poor hygiene). Student will receive a negative mark (grade).

Students not dressed properly will still be required to participate. Non-suit make up activities will be available: see coach.

4) Stay on task: The more focused the class is (listening, seated, quite, etcÉ) the quicker and smoother the class will flow and the more time you will have to play! Keep distractions to a minimum. Questions are encouraged if appropriately timed.
