The board voted 3-2, with de Beck and Zimmerman voting no, for the First Amendment to Agreement, effective February 13, 2002 through August 31, 2006, between the San Diego Unified School District and the Foundation for the Improvement of Mathematics and Science (FIMSE) for administration of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation grant to the District by FIMSE to revised reporting requirements, management of funds, and reimbursement to the District for allowable expenditures. (E.2.a)

The board voted 3-2, with de Beck and Zimmerman voting no, for the First Amendment to Agreement, effective February 13, 2002 through August 31, 2006, between the San Diego Unified School District and the Foundation for the Improvement of Mathematics and Science (FIMSE) for administration of the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation grant to the District by FIMSE to revised reporting requirements, management of funds, and reimbursement to the District for allowable expenditures. The board voted 5-0 for the District Wide Applications: Approval of agreements to purchase and implement systems to replace current Student Information System, Human Resources and Financial Systems. (E.3.a)

The board voted 5-0 for the authorization to commence with the appraisal process, relocation plan, and other related procedures to acquire the property for proposed Edison/Hamilton/Parks Area Elementary School Alternative Site A. (E.6.k)

The board voted 3-2, with de Beck and Zimmerman voting no, for the Resolution in the Matter of Reduction/Elimination of Classified Services for the 2002-03 School Year (Office-Technical and Business Services Bargaining Unit). (E.10.b)
