Major agenda items included:

The board voted 5-0 for the single budget adoption of the 2003-04 district budget. (E.2.b)

The board voted 4-0, with Zimmerman absent, for the permanent site and facilities recommendations for the Creative and Performing Media Arts (CPMA) school, with the amendment to research safety markings at the school, as well as a later start time at the MacDowell or Kroc Middle School campuses. The board voted 3-1, with de Beck voting no and Zimmerman absent, for the articulation, and audition recommendations for CPMA and San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA). (E.5.k)

The board voted 3-1, with de Beck voting no and Zimmerman absent, for staff recommendations regarding the application for approval of the petition and charter for the Kwachiiyoa Charter School. (The petition was denied, per recommendation.) (E.9.a)

The board voted 5-0 to approve the Application for Approval of the Renewal Petition and Charter for the Preuss School UCSD. (E.9.c)

The board voted 5-0 for the Adoption of the Tentative Agreement between the San Diego Unified School District and the San Diego Education Association, as the exclusive representative of teachers bargaining unit on the 2003-2006, Collective Bargaining Agreement, in accordance with Section 3547.5 of the California Government Code and Section 1029 of the Bylaws of the Board of Education. (E.10.f)

The board voted 5-0 to approve the Memorandum of Understanding for Managers and Supervisors Comprising the Management Team of San Diego City Schools effective July 1, 2003 through June 30, 2004. (E.10.g)
