DeVICARIIS, Susan - from Vice Principal, Linda Vista Elementary, to Principal, Sessions Elementary, Office of the Deputy Superintendent.

Major agenda items included the following:

The board voted 5-0 to approve provisional internship permits for teachers assigned to severe shortage areas.

The board voted 5-0 to adopt tentative agreements between the San Diego Unified School District and the San Diego Education Association (SDEA); the California School Employees Association (CSEA), Chapter 788 and Chapter 759; and the Administrators Association of San Diego (AASD).

The board voted 5-0 to approve School Assistance and Intervention Team (SAIT) Third Progress Report for Euclid Elementary School as required by the Public Schools Accountability Act (PSAA).

The board voted 5-0 to approve Resolution in the Matter of Emergency Waiver – Public Project resulting from the October 12, 2006 fire damage at Standley Middle School.

The board voted 5-0 to approve designation of 2006-07 Organizational Meeting of the Board of Education to be held on December 12, 2006.

The Board voted 4-1, with Jackson voting no to approve the Public Hearing and Resolution Regarding Sufficiency of Textbooks or Instructional Materials

Recognitions and presentations:

The Board voted 5-0 to approve the Resolution in the Matter of the Recognition of the San Diego Unified School District Community Services (CSA) Annual Membership Campaign and their 50th anniversary.

The Board voted 5-0 to approve the Resolution in the Matter of the Recognition of November 13 – 19, 2006, as National Children’s Book Week.

The Board voted 5-0 to approve the Resolution in the Matter of the Recognition of December 1, 2006 as World AIDS Day.

The Board recognized new partners to the Partnerships in Education Program, now celebrating its 25th year of service, and also recognized exemplary partnerships
