In accordance with Education Code Section 44263, the Board of Education is allowed to retroactively approve authorizations for individuals on the attached exhibit to teach in the designated single subject classes with his or her consent, provided that the teacher has completed at least 18 semester units, or 9 upper division or graduate semester units, of coursework at an accredited institution in the subject taught for the 2006-07 school year. The governing board of the school district by resolution shall provide specific authorization for such assignments. The authorization of the governing board is valid for one year and may be renewed annually. A total of 78 teachers provided instruction during the 2006-07 school year under this Education Code authorization.
