Approval of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) league representatives for San Diego Unified School District. The Education Code gives the authority for high school athletics to high school governing boards. The code also requires that the boards, after joining CIF, designate their representatives to CIF leagues Education Code Section 33353 (a) (1). The representatives of boards are the only persons who will vote on issues, at the league and section levels, that affect athletics. This item authorizes six District staff members to vote on CIF issues: Patricia Crowder, Todd Irving, Mel Collins, Dana Shelburne, Michael Price, and Bruce Ward. The Board is required to take action and the District is required to provide documentation to the CIF San Diego Section, or the District will lose playing and voting privileges.

Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, Public Law 93-288, as amended, provides the statutory framework for a Presidential declaration of an emergency or a declaration of a major disaster, and supplements state and local resources for disaster relief and recovery. Resolution Terminating the California Public Entity Insurance Authority Joint Powers Agreement. The District was previously a member of the California Public Entity Insurance Authority (CPEIA). That entity has merged with California State Association of Counties Excess Insurance Authority, (CSAC EIA). The District is able to and has joined CSAC EIA as a public entity member. The District now elects to terminate the CPEIA Joint Powers Agreement. There is no cost to the District under this agreement.
