Question: I want to learn how to use Cognos. Are there any training classes I can attend?
Answer: The Training group has put together a series of job aids to assist users with the application. Topics include:
- Logging in
- Portal navigation
- Using the Advanced Search feature
- Overview of Available Reports
These job aids are saved as pdfs and are available for download.
A Knowledgebase Article has been created for each report to display:
- Report title, code, and description
- Location within Cognos
- Data refresh rate
- Possible uses and helpful hints
You can access these articles by entering the report title or code into the Knowledgebase search field located in the upper right corner of this screen. Click the Knowledge Search link to view a list of existing report titles. A job aid containing all existing reports is available for download.
In the future the district will release query tools in Cognos. Training will be provided on these tools. The IT Department will notify the Power User community once the tools and training are available. |
