6th Graders Camp Palomar Program
As
part of the Off -Campus Integrated Learning Experiences program, San Diego City
Schools is offering your child an opportunity to spend five days and four nights, free
of charge, in the beautiful Palomar Mountains. Your child and his/her classmates will
join students from other schools in small-integrated study groups. The Palomar State
Park provides a natural setting for race/human relations interaction as well as a
unique outdoor education laboratory. Activities and lessons teach respect for self and
the diversity of peoples, respect for nature, and conservation of natural resources.
Students also enjoy arts and crafts projects using natural materials, music, games,
and evening programs. A sense of responsibility develops as students make their beds,
care for their clothing, set and clean tables, and complete other chores required for
daily living.
San Diego City Schools Music Program
Instrumental music classes are available to any child interested in learning to play a standard orchestral instrument. Beginning classes will meet twice a week and advanced classes will meet once a week. Classes will meet during school hours.
The following is a list of time as that the students are to go to music for the 2000 - 2001 school year.

Need some help with homework?
Need some help finding educational links?
We offer your student a page, Kids Safe Links,
where they can find helpful safe links to all type of educational information, like links to general research, or new and references.
Help with 6th Grade Math? I think that you might find the link listed below very helpful. The Company, Glencoe, makes the 6th Grade math books used by the District and they have a section on their Web site that can help your student along.
You can find this site at (http://www.glencoe.com).
You
can use your student's Stanford 9 Reading Comprehension Score, which is located at the bottom of your Stanford 9 Test results to get a list of state-recommended books that are at your child's reading level.
For a copy of the reading list, visit the STAR web site, or
