  4. Pat yourself on the back. You've done a great job!!! Keep it up!
Savings Tips:

Energy

  • Wear light clothing to keep your body cool in the summer, and heavy clothing to keep warm in the winter.
  • Turn off lights when you leave a room.
  • Don't leave the refrigerator door open. Think about what you want before you open the fridge.
  • Switch off computers and printers when you are done and each night.
  • Use a fan instead of the air conditioning.
  • If there is an air-conditioner running at home or at school, keep all of the doors and window closed.

Water

  • Turn off the faucet while brushing your teeth.
  • Don't take long showers - 5 minutes will get you clean.
  • If you do have a bath, only fill your bathtub halfway.
  • Keep a bottle of drinking water in the refrigerator, to avoid having to wait for the faucet to run cold every time you want a glass of water.
  • If you see a sprinkler that is spraying water all over the place, or is watering the cement, tell an adult.

Recycling

  • At school, put all of your paper and cardboard in the recycling bin.
  • If your school recycles cans and plastic bottles, make sure you and your friends put you empties in the right container.
  • At home, ask your parents if they recycle cans and bottles. Newspaper can be recycled too!
