The Energy Management Control System (EMCS) is a computer-based means for remotely monitoring the temperature and status of classrooms or offices, and controlling the heating and cooling equipment. The main objective is to maintain the desired teaching, learning, and working environment at reduced cost. At present, 150 schools in our district are wired to the Maintenance and Operations Center through the district's wide area network (WAN). With the EMCS, an operator has a real-time view of the heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment in your school. The system also gives real-time data about the temperature, occupancy, and lighting conditions for most rooms in the district.
This screen shot from the EMCS shows the entire San Diego Unified School District.
The facilities are color-coded; white means the equipment is scheduled on, gray means
the equipment is not scheduled on, and red means there is a problem at the site. |
