Solar for Students

Have you ever wondered how photovoltaics work and how much energy they produce? Solar energy comes from the sun. The sun hits the solar panels which can make electricity or heat water. Then the sun heats your house!

Curious about the solar panels on the roof of your school? The San Diego Unified School District has created a website that lets you watch how much energy is produced by those solar panels. You can see the difference between a cloudy day and a sunny day and even monitor it!
