New: Magnet Bus Transportation Reinstated by Board of Education at April 28 Meeting

Five San Diego Unified schools were honored by the state as California Distinguished Schools for 2009. Learn more about each school: Challenger Middle, John Muir, Kearny School of Digital Media & Design, Kearny School of International Business, Scripps Ranch High and San Diego Met.

Welcome to the Office of Enrollment Options web site. In addition to your neighborhood schools, we are proud to offer a variety of school choice options:

• Magnet Schools: Now available at 32 schools districtwide, Magnet Schools offer unique opportunities for in-depth studies in specific areas of study while meeting rigorous California state curriculum standards.
  
  
• Open Enrollment: This offers parents the opportunity to apply to any school, but does not provide transportation.
  
  
• Program Improvement School Choice (PISC): The federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act supports the district in providing enrollment options through Program Improvement School Choice.
  
  
• Voluntary Enrollment Exchange Program (VEEP): Students may voluntarily attend schools other than their resident schools. Transportation is provided.
  
  
• Other Opportunities: We have additional programs such as K-8 Schools, Everest Academy Home Study Program, iHigh Virtual School and many others.

May we suggest that you read through the School Choice Catalog online and for more in depth information click on the different program headings at the top of this page. When you are ready to apply to a school, other than your neighborhood school, simply complete a School Choice Application.
