Lindbergh Sweitzer School

Lindbergh Schweitzer Multi Media Communications Magnet School instills a strong belief that students of ALL educational and physical abilities CAN achieve their highest potential. From this vantage point our dedicated teachers and staff provide meaningful and engaging strategies to empower our students to believe that they CAN make a difference, their voice DOES matter, and different perspectives DO “build bridges to global understanding.” Our purpose becomes unified in our framework of building critical literacy skills, writing and multi media publishing opportunities, and offering multiple pathways that encourage curiosity, creativity, imagination, discovery, empathy and action that expands learning ” beyond the walls of elementary school.” Lindbergh Schweitzer students will graduate with lifelong skills crucial to becoming successful, productive global citizens of the 21st Century.

Lindbergh Schweitzer Multi Media Communications Magnet School is a place where learning is a dynamic process that is transformed through efficient and effective use of technology to increase ALL student engagement and participation, where every classroom is enriched to captivate and support ALL student opportunities for reflection, improvement and success, and ALL students are empowered with high quality learning materials and resources that help them achieve their highest potential as creative, independent thinkers and problems solvers.

Lindbergh Schweitzer is a school where ALL unique individual students with different abilities can grow and learn in an intellectually challenging environment where their interests will stimulate learning, improve achievement and maximize their potential.

Lindbergh Schweitzer is a school where teachers are nurturing compassionate lifelong learners who inspire and engage ALL students in purposeful learning to meet their needs. Teachers are committed to providing a safe learning environment that embraces diversity and values every individual student’s abilities. Teachers collaborate to develop and utilize meaningful and challenging curriculum for ALL students.

Lindbergh Schweitzer is a school where Administrators support, value and inspire stakeholders in an equitable and professional manner. They are actively engaged with and vigorously pursue innovative technology for ALL students and classrooms. They model best practices and open communication through regular interactions with staff, students and the Lindbergh Schweitzer community.

Lindbergh Schweitzer is a place where the support staff is passionate about meeting the academic, emotional, and physical needs of each individual student. The support staff is dedicated to effectively collaborate and communicate with all stakeholders.

Lindbergh Schweitzer is a place where families value and support their child’s academic and social growth. They demonstrate their commitment through regular communication, utilizing technology, and taking advantage of involvement opportunities.

Lindbergh Schweitzer is a school where the community supports ALL students and staff with time, expertise, and resources, in the belief that investing in our children today builds a better future locally and globally. As ALL students develop an awareness and involvement in the community, they will utilize the life skills they have learned at Lindbergh Schweitzer  to become productive contributing citizens of the 21st Century.

SMART Goals: How will we mark our progress toward our vision?

  1. By July 2010, a minimum of 74% of Lindbergh Schweitzer students will attain proficiency or better in literacy.
  2. By July 2010, a minimum of 75% of Lindbergh Schweitzer students will attain proficiency or better in math.
  3. By June 2010, 100% of Lindbergh Schweitzer students will have published an original work of writing, video, digital, pod-cast or performance.
  4. By June 2010, Lindbergh Schweitzer will continue to increase magnet enrollment to maximum capacity.
  5. 100% of parents will receive information regarding what their child needs to know and be able to do to meet grade level expectations. 100% of our parents of students who have not yet attained proficiency in specific content areas will receive information regarding their child’ achievement and the supports that need to be implemented to accelerate the learning of their child. All parents will be offered a variety of venues throughout the school year tht provide opportunities to be a partner in the education of their child.
