V.P. Summer Circus Fun
This summer 45 Valencia Park students had the chance to get a feel for what it’s like to be circus performers. On August 9th, students loaded up on the bus and headed out to the iPay One Center (Sports Arena) to train with Ringling Bothers, Barnum & Bailey performers. Students were allowed onto the ring and learned how to juggle, hula hoop, walk the tightrope and act like a clowns! Fun was had by all!! Including the parents and teachers who went with the students. A great big Thank You! goes to HMC Advertising for arranging this free event for our students, not mention the four free tickets each student received to watch the circus!

When you walk into the office you will see the fabulous painting Asia the elephant painted for the students of Valencia Park. Thank You Asia!

For over twenty years the Valencia Park magnet staff has worked to build a professional theatre and dance program for its students. As the years passed the level of quality demonstrated in its productions and labs has been noticed by parents, staff and community. Now the theatre community has taken notice. Valencia Park Center for Academics, Drama and Dance is pleased to announce a newly formed Partnership In Education with The Old Globe Theatre. This partnership will give Valencia Park Magnet the opportunity to call on the expertise of The Old Globe technical staff and education department. We are planning activities with the Globe through out the year. The Globe has several productions playing currently and Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! opens in late November. A former Valencia Park student has been cast in this year’s production. Read more about The Old Globe at www.oldglobe.org.
