Attendance
Children who miss school miss out on opportunities to learn, build lasting friendships, and develop the skills and attitudes needed to become good citizens and valued employees. There is a clear connection between student attendance and student performance in school. Data shows that higher attendance equals higher achievement for all students.
When a child is ill, the parent/guardian needs to phone in or send a note with their student explaining the reason why the student was absent. If your child is absent 5 or more days for illness in a 4 week period, they need a written note from a doctor. Click the below links to help you decide whether to send your child to school.
If your child has lice, they can come to school the day after treatment as long as they have no live lice.
If your child has conjunctivitis (pink eye), they must be treated before coming to school but can come back as soon as treatment is started. Conjunctivitis is contagious so please do not send your child to school before treatment.
