Principal’s Corner
Dear Golden Hill Families, October, 2009
It was great to see many families at our Back to School Nights last week. I’m glad you had the opportunity to meet your child’s
teacher. Your participation and commitment to your child’s education is important and we value you as our partner in education.
This Friday, October 9th our district officially kicks-off the “Year of the School Volunteer”, a district-wide initiative aimed at increasing volunteer opportunities for the San Diego community, particularly where the need is greatest. I encourage you to volunteer and help support education through a wide range of school-related opportunities, including tutoring, classroom read alouds, classroom assistance, non-classroom assistance (field trips, site beautification), organization involvement (PTO, SSC), and before- and after-school programs. If you would like to volunteer, please call Lorraine Gurrola, PAL for more information on the new volunteer screening process @ 236-5600, ext. 2511.
We have received most of our uniform orders. We thank you for your patience in purchasing uniforms this past month. To motivate and reward students to wear their uniform every day, we will be starting a uniform contest next week. Please support our efforts and encourage your children to wear their uniform daily. Thank you
Sincerely, Mr. Romo
You are always welcome to come see me for any questions or concerns.
