Each segment of the school community brings a unique perspective and has knowledge of how the school functions, and how it might be improved and strengthened to offer the best possible program to students. For example, the principal and teachers receive extensive training in curriculum development and implementation; parents can offer insights on how the school is creating a positive learning environment and how well their children understand the district standards and their daily assignments; support staff, such as counselors, paraprofessionals, and clerical provide unique perspectives on how the school functions to support student learning. As the School Site Council reviews the school program and services, and how the supplemental funds support the district program, it draws on these special skills and knowledge.
