IT Operational Policy: Virtual Private Network Access (VPN)

Title: VPN (Virtual Private Network) access to sandi.net

Policy: VPN accounts are only issued to IT staff that are required provide maintenance and support from off-site, or, off-hours.
Note: VPN connections allow a user access to the entire sandi.net network. They are considered a security risk and are not issued outside of IT.

Users can obtain access to all of the applications used in the district through the following methods:
" PeopleSoft HCM Secure Web Application
" PeopleSoft FI Secure Web Application
" Zangle Teacher Connect Secure Web Application
" Zangle Front Office Terminal Services*
" Encore Secure Web Application
" Cognos Secure Web Application
" Data Files SharePoint**
" Email Outlook Web Access
" Outlook Client via RPC/HTTPS***

* To obtain a terminal services account please submit an IT Service Request
** To have a SharePoint Site created for your department/team, contact Joy Muehlenbein at: jmuehlenbein@sandi.net

** * RCP/HTTPS allows staff to use Microsoft's Outlook Client from home.
