The Knox MacLab consists of 25 iMacs, iBooks and other Macintosh multimedia computers, as well as printers, scanners, and digital cameras. Teachers sign up to use the MacLab to begin student projects or to work on projects in progress. Student work is saved on the Knox Server. Students are able to work on their projects in their classrooms or in the lab by accessing their work over the school network.
Student projects are a result of the classroom curriculum, so computers are not an isolated part of the day. Technology is an integral part of a students school day at Knox.
The MacLab is also a training area for parents and Knox staff. Parent workshops are offered throughout the school year to help parents become more techonology literate. Technology in-services are also held to allow teachers time to learn more about useful applications and keep staff abreast of new trends in educational technology.
For more information, contact Mrs. Busley, Computer Assistant.
