Located near San Diego State University, the Language Academy is a multi-cultural school which emphasizes the importance of fluency in multiple languages. This represents a choice for families who feel that learning a second language is a vital element of today's education. This K to 8 campus has a French immersion and a Spanish/English immersion program. The focus is on making the students fully bilingual and biliterate in at least two languages by the end of the eighth grade.

"9 Million Reasons To Speak Up" Rally

Language Academy PTSA President-elect, Georgia Kenney and Vicky Shain, 1st VP/Book Fair Chair person, joined a rally of hundreds on April 29 on the steps of the Capitol to urge legislators to support investing in children and youth in California.

The rally was part of the California State PTA's ongoing 9 Million Reasons To Speak Up campaign to let elected leaders know that we must invest in the more than 9 million children and youth of our state, rather than repeatedly cutting funding for education and other critical children's services.
