Located near San Diego State University, the Language Academy is a multi-cultural school which emphasizes the importance of fluency in multiple languages. This represents a choice for families who feel that learning a second language is a vital element of today's education. This K to 8 campus has a French immersion and a Spanish/English immersion program. The focus is on making the students fully bilingual and biliterate in at least two languages by the end of the eighth grade.

Magic Mile

The magic mile is a yearly event in which our kids, parents, and teachers participate. It consists of walking/jogging or running one mile to raise money for the San Diego County Council on Literacy. This group purchases books and distributes them throughout the county to all schools. Additionally, each child will receive an age appropriate book, a medal and a Magic Mile T-shirt after the race. This year it will take place on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 7:30am.

Our PTSA wins an award!

National PTA® is honoring the advocacy efforts of Language Academy PTSA from San Diego with its Outstanding Advocacy Award. The PTSA was chosen for their dedication, leadership and sustained effort to positively affect child related policy, regulation and legislation. Gifted and Talented Education: Distinguished Lecture Series

The GATE Department of San Diego Unified School District presents its Distinguished Lecture Series. No reservations are necessary and all are encouraged to attend.
