Heartlight Aerobics
Heartlight, founded in 1986, by Mari Nichols, M.A. is a non-competitive fitness activity where the emphasis is on individual achievement and improvement. The goal of Heartlight, which works in partnership with city schools, is to reinforce the idea that exercise is fun and to build healthy habits in children that will last a lifetime. Heartlight appeals to children of every level of fitness and athletic ability. Girls and boys in Heartlight Aerobics learn the latest jazz, hip hop, and aerobic dance steps each session as they dance to choreographed routines to fun music! Students put on a performance each session with hundreds of other Heartlight students! Heartlight is held after school in over 100 elementary schools in 14 cities across the nation.

Martial Arts After School
Children are faced with a variety of challenges every day. We hope that through the training we provide, they will have developed the confidence and self-assurance to make the right choices. We teach that Martial Arts is NOT about fighting, but rather it is about developing a strong mind and body. With this, the student is more capable of making good decisions which will help them be good examples; providing opportunities to help others... not hurt them.

The three 6-week sessions we offer after school throughout the year are designed to give an introduction to the benefits your child can develop through the practice of martial arts. They are convenient (right after school!) and low cost way to see if your child likes taking classes. The curriculum we use at the elementary school is designed with this in mind. Our curriculum introduces children to three types of martial arts: Tai Chi, Tae Kwon Do, and Kung Fu. Each session, instructors teach new movements and forms from each of these martial arts.

Lessons are taught in a non-aggressive manner and atmosphere. We are not teaching your children how "to fight!" nor are we teaching them martial arts moves just to advance them to "Black Belt Status" Rather, our goal in teaching your children martial arts is to get them to be more aware, focused, disciplined, and help them to develop confidence, self-control and physical fitness.
