Normal Heights Elementary Academics

The teachers and staff at Normal Heights Elementary School work hard to be an important part of their students' education. We have specific curriculum goals, GATE programs, and other educational enhancements that make learning at NHE special.

Curriculum

GATE Program

Normal Heights Elementary School is a GATE Cluster School. GATE Cluster classrooms are organized so that at least 25% of the students have are considered Gifted and Talented.

The GATE designation is determined through a non-language test to students in the third grade. Any parent who wished to verify their students designation should contact the office.

Normal Heights Elementary School currently has five GATE cluster classes. Teachers for GATE classes must complete a certificate program in which they learn strategies and technique to enhance the learning experience of the gifted learners.
