Attendance
There is a very strong connection between school attendance and school success. This means that students who come to school do better in school.
When students miss school:
- They lose valuable learning time.
- They miss opportunities to develop friendships.
- They have difficulty developing the skills and habits needed to be good citizens and future employees.
- The school/district loses funding that is used to provide valuable educational programs.
Even tardies (arriving late to school) count! In order to offer the best learning opportunities, most classrooms have structured daily schedules which focus on specific subjects at specific times. This means that when a student arrives late to school often, he or she may be missing the lessons for entire subjects.
If you have questions about your child’s attendance or our attendance policies, please contact the school. We would be happy to meet with you!
