Midi Keyboard Lab
Band/Choir/Orchestra/Guitars

Derek Suzuki instructs our Keyboard Lab, for fourth and fifth grade students, incorporating technology and keyboard instruction while utilizing the latest hardware and software technology.

Mrs. Terry, our band teacher, inspires students to explore their musical potential and find their own passion for playing musical instruments!

Chorus & Midi Keyboard Lab

Chorus is taught by Lisa Williams and is operated as a serious rehearsal and performance group. This focus provides a foundation for life long music appreciation and prepares our young singers to work with other more formal singing ensembles as they progress through secondary education and beyond.

Music Coaches

The fourth and fifth grade band
students study with professional coaches, receiving both small group and large group lessons each week.

Carl Orff

(1895-1982)

Orff Curriculum:

The Orff philosophy combines the elements of speech, rhythm, poetry, nursery rhymes, movement, dance, and song. And at the heart of all this is improvisation - the instinct children have to create their own melodies, to explore their imaginations.

Oak Park Walking in Harmony

"Character is doing what is right even when no one is looking." -Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Oak Park Tigers show respect to everyone by:

  • Always making eye contact
  • Saying "please" and "thank you"
  • Respecting other studnets' comments, opinions, and ideas
  • If someone bumps into you, saying "excuse me", even if it wasn't your fault.
  • Keeping yourself and our campus clean.
  • Greeting adults and visitors to make them feel welcome.
  • No matter the circumstance, always being honest.
  • Letting an adult know if anyone is bullying you.
  • Learning from your mistakes and moving on.
  • Being the best person you can be.

"One band, one sound."
