2009 8th Grade East Coast Trip Week

After many months of planning and lots of meetings, the 2009 8th Grade East Coast Trip Team of teacher chaperones and students spent an exciting week in Washington, DC, Philadelphia, and New York City. They arrived in Washington, DC on May 31st and returned to San Diego on June 6, 2009.

While visiting the East Coast, the students toured such places as...

  • Arlington National Cemetery
  • Library of Congress
  • Smithsonian
  • Mount Vernon
  • Capitol Hill
  • Lincoln Memorial
  • Vietnam Veteran's Memorial
  • Gettysburg Battlefield
  • Ground Zero
  • Ellis Island
  • Statue of Liberty
  • Little Italy
  • Chinatown
  • United Nations

On the last night of their trip, the students and teachers enjoyed a performance of the long running Broadway hit musical, "Wicked".

Thank you to Ms. Shipherd, P.E. teacher and East Coast Trip Coordinator, her team of teacher chaperones, and all the many people who made this trip happen!
