of schools.
It is a

Traffic
Circle |
|
Gentle Reminders: The parking lot will be open in the mornings only for dropping off your children. Drop off time is 7:15 am to 7:45 am, Monday to Friday. When you enter the parking lot, please:
-
Stay close to the right curb for drop off
-
Pull as far forward as possible
-
Slow down - speed limit is 5mph
-
Right turn only when exiting the parking lot to keep the flow of traffic (no left turn).
The goal is to create a valet service where drivers drive up with children and backpacks ready to go for a quick exit from the car. We will have adults and students out to monitor and assist in keeping the flow of traffic going. Please join the team by making this attempt at addressing our traffic issues and the safety of your children a success. Please refer to the Traffic Circle Map as your guide. Thank you to the volunteers who have agreed to be on the patrol. Your time and willingness to help is greatly appreciated! If we all use our Tiger life skills and team spirit this new system can work – it does at other schools.
More Traffic Circle parent volunteers are needed. If interested please send an email to

Running and Walking Club |
|
In an effort to promote our "Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds" quest, except for rainy days, all students who arrive on campus prior to 7:35 am must report immediately to Running/Walking Club. Please go to the field and obtain your card out of your classroom box so you can get credit for your exercise. When the 7:35 am bell rings the parents volunteering at the club will let you know that the last lap is approaching. All students must be in their classes at 7:45 am sharp. Healthy bodies does promote thinking and problem-solving skills. Let's work together to ensure that happens in our community.

Parking and Student Safety |
|
|
The safety of every
child is the most
important concern of the
Sandburg Staff.
Returning parents to
Sandburg are well aware
of the parking issues,
especially in the
morning. Many of our
parents are accustomed
to parking their cars
and then walking their
student/s to class and
waiting with them on
campus until the start
of school. This
eliminates many parking
spaces for the parents
who must drop their
student/s off on their
way to work and creates
major safety hazards at
our crosswalk in the
front of school and at
the back gate. It also
provides opportunities
for those who might put
our students in harm's
way.
Except for Sandburg
staff, there is no
on-campus parking at
Sandburg Elementary.
Please park on the
streets surrounding the
campus and walk to meet
your children. |
|
| |
|
Rainy Days |
|
|
If it is raining during
school hours we will not
lock the school parking
lot. Please be
safe when dropping off
and picking up your
children. Also, we
will not be opening the
back gate on rainy days
due to the unsafe
conditions of the back
ramp area and water on
the field. |

School
Supply Lists |
|
|
Because of our
current budget
crisis, Sandburg
is asking
parents/guardians
to voluntarily
supply (donate)
their child with
the list of
learning tools
below. This is
only on a
volunteer basis,
so if you are
unable to donate
these supplies,
please notify
your child’s
teacher the
first week of
school. This
will allow the
teacher to have
the time to get
the needed
supplies for
your child. Any
items that are
not used by the
classroom
teacher will be
placed in our
supply room for
other teachers
to use. We thank
you for your
continuous
support. |
