Target Audience: ILS/PACE Teachers, Inclusion Case Managers, SBDRT’s, DIS
This training will provide hands-on strategies to assist team members in developing age appropriate money instruction for students with moderate to severe disabilities. Participants will identify the math skills needed to functionally develop money skills using combinations of coins and bills, as well as understanding the “dollar over/next dollar” strategy. Adaptations and supports to increase student independence when making purchases on campus and in the community will be shared.
Outcomes: Participants will be able to articulate the instructional decisions made and show evidence of individually designed materials and instructional strategies to teach money skills based on the IEP goals and instructional needs of students.
