i21 Update and Professional Development Schedule

Over the summer, workers have been busy converting most 3rd, 6th and high school math classrooms into i21 Interactive Classrooms Adobe PDF. Funded through Prop S, i21 is an initiative that sets out to equip classrooms, upgrade technology and create 21st century learning environments. Starting with 3rd, 6th and high school math classrooms, nearly 1,400 classrooms will be equipped with an Interactive White Board (Promethean Board), whole class amplification system, document camera, teacher tablet computer and a netbook cart with enough netbook computers for every student in the class. To date, about 700 Promethean boards have been installed in classrooms across the district.

In collaboration with teachers and other stakeholders, professional development opportunities have been designed and will be available as classroom installations are completed. Click here Adobe PDF for information regarding the professional development plan with specifics about workshop opportunities. For more information or with questions, please e-mail at i21classrooms@sandi.net .
