San Diego Unified pay warrants are issued through the County Treasurer of San Diego. At the request of the County Treasurer, effective immediately, no stop payments will be placed on pay warrants lost in the mail until seven calendar days following the mailing of the pay warrant. If your pay is not directly deposited, you must wait seven calendar days before placing a stop payment on a lost warrant. Generally, a replacement check will be generated the day after the stop payment has been placed. If you wish to place a stop payment on a lost warrant, you must complete the appropriate paperwork in the Fiscal Control office, Room 3251 at the Education Center. Contact Fiscal Control at (619) 725-7679 if you have any questions regarding the stop payment process.
If you wish to sign up for direct deposit, you must submit a direct deposit form to the payroll office in Room 1150 of the Education Center. Forms can be found at your site or on the district website by clicking on Departments/Payroll/ Payroll forms. Please note that it takes up to 60 days to process a direct deposit request. Employees that have recently signed up for direct deposit should check their bank balance to ensure funds were deposited to their account before accessing funds.
Effective this week, school principals will advise parents and staff in the event of an H1N1 outbreak, as defined by the California Department of Public Health.
Students and staff who are not ill should come to school each day, including schools where an outbreak has occurred. Schools are being given updated instructions to protect the health of our students and staff.
Students and staff with flu symptoms may return when fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication during those 24 hours. No doctor’s note is required.
Children with underlying health conditions (including asthma, immune system problems, neuromuscular disorders, diabetes, sickle cell anemia and pregnancy) who experience flu symptoms should contact their doctor, as they may be eligible for an anti-viral medication.
This week, principals will send letters home, reinforcing preventative measures to take both at home and at school, plus resources to educate students on staying well.
Visit the district H1N1 website at www.sandi.net/H1N1 to review the latest information.
