New - 2009 - 2010 Student Assembly Documents
On Friday, September 18, all students meet with the administration at Standley for an assembly during their PE class time.  The purpose of the assembly was to welcome students to the 2009-2010 school year as well as to review important school information and rules.  If you are interested in viewing the presentation, please click here.

New - H1N1 Information from SDUSD
SDUSD has distributed the following noteices in regards to the H1N1 flu virus:

New - 7th & 8th Grade Science Supplies
With the start of the new school year comes the need for school supplies. The Standley 7th and 8th grade Science teachers require the following items (most of which can be purchased at the Student Store or any local store.

  • Spiral-bound Notebook, preferably a large (9"x 11.5"), single-subject notebook with no tear-out pages
  • Glue-Stick & Tape
  • Colored Pencils
  • Pens and Pencils
  • Highlighter
  • Ruler
  • OPTIONAL: USB drive

UPDATED 10/21/2009

October 28th: Minimum Day
Standley will observe a minimum day schedule on Wednesday, October 27th. Students will report directly to second period, and will be dismissed at 1:15 p.m. For a detailed list of the bell schedule, visit our bell schedule page.

New - October 22nd: Progress Report Distribution
Progress reports for the first six weeks of school will be distributed to students on Friday, October 22nd in their Academic Prep (Advisory) class. Students need to return their signed Progress Reports to their Advisory teacher on Monday, October 25th. Standley will observe a modified schedule, having Academic Prep at the beginning and the end of the day. Lunches will be determined by Period 4. 8th Grade Memories Video Order Form
MLY Photography is selling a DVD featuring photos and videos set to music that highlight the 8th grade events from the year (EastCoast Trip, 8th Grade Dance, Boomers) as well as 8TH Grade promotion. The DVD sells for $30. Click here to download the orderform (.PDF file).

Cyberbullying Materials
On Thursday, April 30th, sixth and seventh grade advisories viewed a variety of vignettes in regards to cyberbullying and online safety. Copies of the materials used are available for parents to download here

"Free Dress Day" Information
Standley will observe "free dress days" on minimum days and days when there is an ASB sponsored activity. On a designated "free dress day" students are not required to wear their uniform, but they still must adhere to the Dressed to Learn Dress Code.

Free OnLine Homework Help
Open every day from 1:00 to 10:00 p.m., the San Diego Public Library is offering students live one-on-one help with math, science, English, and social studies over the internet.  Spanish-speaking tutors are also available from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. (Sunday to Thursday).  Visit the website at
