Harcourt Inventory Update

Dear Principals,
 
The Harcourt Inventory Test will be administered to all students in Grades 1-5 at the beginning of the school year.  The testing window for the Harcourt Inventory is September 8- October 2, 2009.  
 
Test materials will be delivered this week (regular truck delivery) between August 31 and September 4.  Please alert your BSS to the anticipated arrival of these materials and make arrangements for the secure storage of all test materials on your campus. Information about the Harcourt Inventory Test, as well as the teacher directions will be included in your materials.  
 
The designated DataScanner Power User at your site will print the student answer sheets for the Harcourt Inventory Test.  Please have the DataScanner Power User refer to the attached job aid for instructions. Note: This job aid is also available on our "Files to Download" page.

WRAP/DRA Update

Dear Principals,
 
The Writing and Reading Assessment Profile (WRAP) and the Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA) are screening assessments that will be administered at the beginning of the school year to students in kindergarten through Grade 2.  The testing window for the WRAP/DRA is September 8 – October 2, 2009.  Teachers will input student results in DataDirector.  The 2009-10 WRAP/DRA and 2009-10 Literacy Essentials for the WRAP can be located under the “Assessment” tab in DataDirector.
 
Packets will be sent to principals beginning today, August 31, 2009 containing the following materials:
v       WRAP Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
v       SDUSD Instructional Reading Levels Correlation Chart
v       DataDirector Job Aids for entering WRAP/DRA results
v       WRAP Inventory Items (for ordering additional Recording Sheets through PeopleSoft) Note: These items are also available on our "Files to Download" page.

Please forward this information regarding the 2009-10 WRAP/DRA administration to all K-2 teachers at your site.  If you have questions about ordering WRAP/DRA materials or entering scores in DataDirector, contact Velvet Wright at (619) 725-7148 or vwright@sandi.net.

Earlier this week I sent you an email regarding the site test coordinator designations at your school (see below).  The initial attachment was corrupt and folks were unable to type in the information.  I’ve attached a different version of the form that should work.  Please complete and submit your form by September 18, 2009.

General Update

Dear Principals:
 
Administrative Circular No. 4, Designation of School Site Test Coordinators, has been posted, http://www.sandi.net/staff/circulars/0910/index.html .
 
Please designate your site test coordinator for each of the assessment programs on the attached form (Attachment A of the circular).  The completed form must be submitted by SEPTEMBER 18, 2009.  Completed forms can be faxed to (619) 725-7070 or emailed to dhavelin@sandi.net.   If the form is not returned or no one is identified as the site test coordinator for any required assessment program, the principal will be assumed to be the designated coordinator.
