GMRT Update

Dear Principals and GMRT Test Coordinators:
 
For GRADE 3 ONLY- a separate shipment from the GMRT test publisher was sent directly to schools TODAY via express mail containing the Pre-ID’d barcode labels.  

Grade 3 students will use answer booklets instead of answer sheets. The blank answer booklets for grade 3 are included in your test materials picked up from Annex 10, along with your materials for grades 4-10.  For grade 3, you will affix the Pre-ID barcode labels to the blank answer booklets.  Please refer to the salmon sheet in your Directions for Site Test Coordinators, as well as the packet that was included with your barcode labels.

General Testing Update

Dear Principals:
 
This is a friendly reminder that your 2009-10 Site Test Coordinator Designation Form is due this Friday, September 18th. We’ve received forms from over half of the schools in the district already.  If you have not yet submitted your form, please read the email below, complete, and fax (to 619-725-7070) or email (to dhavelin@sandi.net) your form by this Friday.

Gates-MacGinitie Reading Test Update

Dear Principals and Site Test Coordinators:
 
The testing window for the Gates-MacGinitie Reading Test (GMRT) is scheduled for September 28, 2009 - October 2, 2009. The GMRT will be administered to students in Grades 3-10.  Materials will be available for pick up in Annex 10 at the Eugene Brucker Education Center beginning September 21, 2009 between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. daily.  Instructions will be included with your test materials.  The Directions for Administration (DFAs) will be located on the bottom of each sealed package of test bookets.
 
Caution for Grades 7, 8, & 9: Level 7/9, Form T is to be used for Grade 8 only; Level 7/9, Form S is to be used for Grades 7 and 9 only.  The two forms are very similar in color, so please ensure that the correct form goes to the correct student during the test administration.
 
Special Note:  Students in Grades 7-10 at schools participating in the Striving Readers Grant will be taking the Degrees of Reading Power (DRP) instead of the GMRT.  The DRP testing window is scheduled for October 12 -16, 2009.  DRP test materials will be delivered via truck delivery during the week of September 28, 2009.

Harcourt Inventory Update

Dear Principals and Site Test Coordinators:
 
It has come to our attention that the Grade 2 and Grade 4 Answer Keys for the Harcourt Inventory are incorrect. For Grade 2, the answer for item #21 is wrong, and for Grade 4, answers for items #28-33 are wrong. The answer keys in DataDirector have been fixed so when completed answer sheets are scanned, the items will be scored correctly. Attached are the revised answer keys.  Please forward this information to your 2nd and 4th grade teachers.
