STAR Update
Dear Elementary Principals and STAR Site Test Coordinators:
Elimination of the STAR Writing for Grade 4: The California Department of Education (CDE) just announced that the STAR Writing for Grade 4 has been eliminated. Therefore, Grade 4 students will no longer take a separate writing test in early March as part of their total ELA CST or ELA CMA score. By eliminating the STAR Writing for Grade 4, the state will save over 2 million dollars this year. Grade 7 students will continue to participate in the STAR Writing on March 2 and 3, 2010.
