GMRT Update
Dear GMRT Site Test Coordinators:
It has been brought to our attention that there is an error in the directions for sending back the Gates-MacGinitie (GMRT) grade 3 test booklets to Riverside Publishing. On page 6 of the directions (see the salmon color paper), it states the order form for Riverside Scoring Service is pink. It is actually green. This form must be included with the materials returned to Riverside. We apologize for any confusion (or stress!) this error may have caused.
Thank you.

GMRT Update
Dear GMRT Coordinators:
We’ve received a lot of calls regarding the scanning for GMRT answer sheets. Please forward this information to all DataScanner Power Users or those currently scanning the GMRT at your school.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING GMRT SCANNING:
§ LEVEL & FORM: The “Form” and “Level” on the answer sheets do NOT need to be hand-grid. These fields will be “hard-coded” by DataDirector before the results are scored. Sites can leave these fields blank on the answer sheets.
§ STRANDED RECORDS: After scanning, all students will appear “stranded”. DON’T BE ALARMED. This is “normal” for the GMRT. The results will not be available immediately. After scanning and “committing”, the data will be extracted through DataDirector and sent to Riverside Publishing for scoring. The results will then be available in DataDirector after 24-48 hours in the Reports tab in the Pre-Built section.
§ EXAM ID NUMBER: The Exam ID selected when scanning is the SAME for all grade levels for the GMRT.
We hope these few hints will make your scanning experience smoother.
Thank you.

GMRT Update
Dear GMRT Site Test Coordinators:
The information contained in this email will assist you as you wrap up your Gates MacGinitie Reading Test (GMRT) administration.
Returning Test Materials = due on October 5, 2009
All test booklets for grades 4-10 and unused answer booklets for grade 3 must be returned to Annex 10 between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday, October 5, 2009.
Answer Booklets for Grade 3 = send (FedEx) by October 5, 2009
The GMRT Test Coordinator must follow the special instructions for grade 3 provided in the GMRT Directions for Test Site Coordinators (salmon color). The following forms were included with the grade 3 Pre-ID barcode labels and must be completed:
- Grade/Class Identification Sheet (blue),
- Building Identification Sheet (purple),
- Order Form for Riverside Scoring Service (green).
After all of the forms (listed above) have been completed, the used answer booklets must be packed appropriately for shipping. The FedEx instructions and shipping labels were included in the packets sent to sites with the grade 3 Pre-ID barcode labels. After Riverside receives the school’s 3rd grade answer sheets and scans them, the results will be available in DataDirector within a week.
Answer Sheets for Grades 4-10 = scan by October 8, 2009
The designated DataScanner Power User will scan the answer sheets for grades 4-10 at the school site. The GMRT exam is different from other district tests in that the results will take 24-48 hours to be scored. Once the GMRT answer sheets are scanned and “committed”, the data must be scored by the test publisher, Riverside. Within 24-48 hours the results will be available under the “Reports” tab in the Pre-Built section. Answer sheets can be shred or securely destroyed by the site after 1 month.
Accessing Results in DataDirector
Sites may access the GMRT results in DataDirector 24-48 hours after scanning grades 4-10 answer sheets and 7-10 days after shipping grade 3 answer booklets. The results will be available under the “Reports” tab in the Pre-Built section.
If you have any questions about the GMRT, please contact Elizabeth Kramer at ekramer@sandi.net or (619) 725-7165.
Thank you.
