WE KNOW THAT SCHOOL DISTRICTS ARE STRUGGLING FINANCIALLY, HOWEVER, NOTE TO THE SAN DIEGO COMMUNITY, OUR K-8 PROGRAM WILL SAVE YOU GAS BECAUSE YOUR ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS CAN ATTEND THE SAME SCHOOL – ONE STOP!
                                                                
Our school times will not change which will not disrupt your schedules for work and school.

Start time:  8:15 AM
End time:   2:45 PM

Harriet Tubman WILL have summer school and childcare this summer.

Harriet Tubman WILL keep the necessary help in the classroom next year by retaining our classroom assistants.

Harriet Tubman WILL continue to keep our school facilities safe and clean.

Harriet Tubman WILL keep small class size, class size reduction K-3; 1 teacher per 20 students.

Harriet Tubman WILL continue the Arts and Music Programs.

Harriet Tubman WILL have after school programs academic partnerships and step-in tutors.

Harriet Tubman WILL continue to do all we can to keep funding issues away from the classroom – your children come first!

Ways in which you can help.

  1. Participate in school fundraising events.
  2. Tell other families about your wonderful school and encourage them to enroll their children.
  3. Become an active member of Village Council.

First Bell rings 8:10 a.m.
School begins 8:15 a.m.
Lunch 10:50- 12:25 p.m.
Dismissal 2:45 p.m.

Office Hours
School Year Monday-Friday 7:15 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

The first bell rings at 8:10 a.m. Students not eating breakfast at school or not enrolled in the 6 to 6 program, may not enter school grounds before 7:45 a.m. Classes begin at 8:15 a.m. Students arriving later than 8:15 a.m. must report to the office for a tardy slip before going to class.

Morning Break - Students are scheduled for a ten-minute break each day. Only under adverse weather conditions do we keep the children indoors. Students are welcome to bring a small, healthy snack for morning break.

10:50 – 11:25 a.m. Kindergarten
11:00 – 11:35 a.m. 1st Grade
11:10 – 11:45 a.m. 2nd Grade
11:15 – 11:50 a.m. 3rd Grade
11:25 – 12:00 p.m. 4th Grade
11:55 – 12:25 p.m. 5th – 8th Grade

2:45 p.m. End of School Day

Rainy Day Schedule and Procedures (2007-2008)

Before School : Teachers will open their classrooms to students at 8:00 a.m.
Morning Break : All grades – If raining, the restroom breaks only
Lunch Schedule : Teachers must come to the cafeteria to pick up their students
Grades K/1st : 10:40 – 11:10 a.m. : Back to class

The Aides will remain in the Cafeteria for 15 minutes with the students.

Grades 2nd /8th : Students will remain in the cafeteria after eating and read books, play rainy day games or watch a video.

Schedule :
Grades K/1: 10:40 – 11:10 a.m.
Grades 2/3: 11:10 – 11:40 a.m.
Grades 4: 11:30 – 12:00 p.m.
Grades 5/8: 11:55 – 12:25 p.m.

Regular lunchtime supervision staff will be on duty in the cafeteria.

Notification of Rainy Day Schedule
Rainy Day Schedule will be determined by the office by 10:30 a.m... The school secretary will notify the BSS and classroom teachers via note or phone calls.
