Students who performed below grade level on the Califoria Standards Test will be recommended for Extended Day (After School) Reading and/or Math (EDRP/EDMP). To become better prepared to meet rigorous academic standards we encourage you to enroll your child in our Extended Day Learning Program (spaces are limited). Wangenheim teachers will provide an enriched program using quality materials to motivate students and help them achieve at proficient and advanced levels. The Extended Day Program will run for 25 weeks and attendance is required. Thank you for your support.

The Extended Day Programs (EDP) will begin in late October or early November.

Hours: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2:25 p.m. to 3:55 p.m.

Snack: A nutritional snack is provided free of charge.

Bus: Students who take the bus will take the late bus home which departs at 3:30.

Students must obtain parent permission to enroll.
Students who are enrolled will receive a reminder notice and room assignment before the first day of the program. The program will run throughout the school year with breaks during the spring vacation and during the standardized test time in the spring. A calendar will be distributed. Extended Day Classes are only for those students identified as significantly below grade level.

This program will provide an opportunity for your child to increase his/her reading skills while participating in quality learning experiences.
Wangenheim teachers will provide an enriched program using quality books and materials to motivate students to want to read.

Your child may have been selected for this program because he or she scored below grade level on standardized tests. Your child may also have been selected to participate in the program because he/she is an English Learner. If you have questions or would like to discuss these results, please call your child’s counselor. Your child may be at risk of being retained, losing their elective, or eventually not passing the High School Exit Exam if they are performing below below grade level.
