Once again, Wangenheim Middle School has met and exceeded State and Federal accountability requirements. We are proud of these achievements:
- Our 2006 Academic Performance Statewide Ranks are 9 (statewide) and 9 (similar schools).
- Our Academic Performance Index is 811. The statewide goal is 800.
- All of our numerically significant subgroups met their growth target.
- We made 33 of 33 Adequate Yearly Progress Criteria.
- Our percentage of students who score at the Proficient or Advanced levels on STAR testing continues to be among the highest in the San Diego Unified School District .
Wangenheim Middle School leads the District with an outstanding elective program.
In addition to outstanding test scores, Wangenheim Middle School offers the most complete elective program available. Course/club offerings include band, drama, wood shop, metal shop, music appreciation, computers, art, ASB, yearbook, AVID, broadcasting, foods, and photography. We also offer beginning and advanced orchestra and chorus.

THANK YOU!!
A special THANK YOU to student, Rahul M for donating money to PTSA. This wonderful Wildcat found money and turned it into the office. The money was not claimed so he donated it to our PTSA. Thanks Rahul, you have the WILDCAT spirit!!
PTSA Membership
The PTSA membership drive is going strong. Thank you for your support! On October 12 th two students won i-Pod shuffles from a membership drawing. Also one lucky parent won a sweat suit through another drawing only for PTSA members. It is never too late to join and support your child's school.

It is not too late to join PTSA! Please make sure to join the PTSA this year as you will receive a discount on P.E. clothes as well as other incentives. Adults are $10.00 and students are $8.00. There will be lots of fun activities to participate in!
PTSA meeting Dates:
PTSA meets every 2nd Wednesday of the month in the staff lounge on campus. It is at 6:30pm . Everyone is welcome to attend and find out what is going on with your PTSA! Any questions, please contact Gina Vasquez, our President in the counseling office at Wangenheim.
