The
eighth-grade English
students of Ms. Hinojosa
and Mrs. Johnston prepared
gift boxes for hospitalized
veterans. The students
were working towards
their LCS awards and
were very generous
in their giving. The
students had the privledge
of hearing Mr. Ray
Calhoun
speak about his Vietnam
War experiences last
week. Mr. Calhoun,
a silver star recipient
for bravery, is a perfect
example of the type
of person the LCS award
is promoting. Thanks
to all the students!
The volunteer coordinator
at the VA La Jolla
was overwhelmed with
the number of boxes
we
delivered.
