Announcements:

From the Vice Principal:

A few weeks ago one of our students had to go to the emergency room in an ambulance.  We were unable to notify the parents because all of the phone numbers in our computer were disconnected or incorrect.

If you change jobs, get a new cell phone or move homes, please notify the office immediately and let us know your new phone numbers.  It is very important that all your contact information is current so that we can contact you in an emergency.

From the Music Department:

Our music department has been very active this year and will be so right up to the end of school. Here are some of the highlights of our performances so far:

We have hosted two festivals at the school, one in March and one in May. At the March festival, our Intermediate and Advanced Orchestras performed and did quite well. In May, the Advanced Orchestra earned a rating of Excellent, the Advanced Band earned an Excellent rating, and the Wind Ensemble earned a rating of Unanimous Superior.

During April, three of our groups traveled to Colorado and participated in the Breckenridge Music Festival. The Choir and Orchestra earned a Superior rating and the Band received an Excellent rating. When we weren't performing, the students and chaperones enjoyed two days of skiing and other snow-related activities (and yes, it snowed while we were there!).

On June 7, the Wind Ensemble will perform on board the USS Midway aircraft carrier museum along with several other bands from schools in the San Diego Unified District. Our performance time is 12:00 noon.

We will finish up the year with our Year-End Concerts on Monday, June 9 and Wednesday, June 11. The featured groups on Monday evening will be the Beginning Band, Beginning Orchestra, Intermediate Band, Beginning Choir and Advanced Choir. Wednesday night's groups will include the Intermediate Orchestra, Advanced Orchestra, Advanced Band, and Wind Ensemble. Please come out to see and hear some of our ensembles!
