Thank
You
Mira
Mesa
Coffee
Bean
and
Tea
Leaf!
On
May
9;
2008,
Mrs.
Reilly
and
her
student
teacher,
Ms.
Gensaw,
took
their
seventh
grade
English
class
on
a
field
trip
to
the
local
Mira
Mesa
Coffee
Bean
and
Tea
Leaf.
The
focus
of
the
trip
was
the
importance
of
reading
as
part
of
job
training
and
the
value
of
first
impressions
during
the
interviewing
process.
This
field
trip
came
as
the
culminating
event
for
their
unit
on
functional
and
informative
documents.
When
the
students
arrived
at
the
Coffee
Bean
they
were
greeted
with
balloons
and
lunch
on
the
patio,
a
welcome
sign
inside
the
store,
and
complimentary
ice
blends
already
made
for
the
entire
class.
Bob
Cahill
and
Joe
Bridger,
the
General
Manager
and
Shift
Supervisor
for
the
Del
Mar
store,
were
gracious
enough
to
volunteer
their
time
to
set
up
the
store,
make
the
drinks
and
give
a
presentation
to
the
students.
Bob's
presentation
highlighted
the
importance
of
reading,
i.e.
in
reading
the
training
manual,
reading
comprehension
to
prepare
for
closed
book
quizzes
at
the
end
of
each
section,
and
the
importance
of
first
impressions
during
interviews.
We
would
also
like
to
thank
the
General
Manager
from
Mira
Mesa
store,
Melissa
Moniger
and
her
team,
for
letting
our
class
take
over
her
store
and
providing
the
ingredients
for
the
delicious
iced
drinks
for
the
students!
We
loved
them!
Thanks
again
to
Bob
Cahill
and
Melissa
Moniger
and
their
teams
for
their
contribution
to
our
wonderful
field
trip
to
the
Coffee
Bea
and
Tea
Leaf;
Wangenheim
Middle
School
appreciates
you!
