Washington Elementary
Uniforms
The Washington Elementary school uniform colors are solid navy blue and solid white, no lettering,
patterns or stripes.  Washington students are expected to wear uniforms to school daily.  If students need extra
clothing due to weather conditions, sweatshirts and sweaters must be navy blue or white.
The following are prohibited at all times during the school day
  1. Clothing that is gang-related, especially jackets with Gothic lettering or clothing that has been altered.
  2. Tee-shirts with drug, alcohol, or graphic violence depicted as pictures, slogans, or inappropriate statements.
  3. Cut-out tee-shirts revealing bare skin.
  4. Long necklaces, dangling bracelets, or earrings.
  5. Shoes with heels, heelies or sandals incompatible with or unsafe for physical education.
  6. Make-up.
  7. Hair coloring in unnatural shades or colors.
  8. Hats worn in the classroom.
  9. Sagging pants.  (If we can see your boxers, they’re too loose!)  Pant hems cannot touch the ground—this is a
    safety concern.
  10. False Nails
  11. Sunglasses (unless requested for Field Trips)
  12. iPods
  13. Cell phones, if needed, must be left in backpacks.
WE BELIEVE ACHIEVEMENT IS ENHANCED WHEN CHILDREN ARE APPROPRIATELY DRESSED FOR SCHOOL.
